Description
The Sinkankas Symposium has been described as the most important gemological conference in North America. Organized by Roger Merk, the annual one-day event features presentations by specialists who address a variety of topics related to a different gem mineral each year. A book produced for each year’s gem theme features articles that cover diverse topics, including the gem’s history, crystallography and mineralogy, inclusions and gemological research, causes of color, geology and gem localities, a photo gallery of collector specimens, and literary references.
